Javier Fernández
Honorary Chair
Javier Fernández is the President and Chief Executive Officer for Omaha Public Power District. He was born and raised in Mexico City and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México in his hometown and a master’s degree in business and finance from Yale University. He later moved to the United States and became a U.S. citizen.
Javier is excited to celebrate and elevate the impact of our mission during Destino 2024. The Latino Center is deeply grateful for his support.
Madeline Moyer
Familia y Comunidad Awardee
Madeline Moyer is a dedicated banking leader with a passion for mentoring, exceptional service, and community contribution. As the Senior Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion and Market Manager at Security National Bank, she is the first Latina in this role, driving diversity and equity. Her 40-year banking career has significantly uplifted Omaha’s Latino community.
Madeline has extensive non-profit experience, serving on many boards and giving back to South Omaha. Personally, she values family, celebrating 19 years of marriage to her husband Jim, and is proud of her daughter Rachel, a successful doctor. She also has two stepsons, Aaron and Colin, and adores her grandchildren, Penelope and Parker. Madeline is one of nine siblings.

Founded in a South Omaha garage in 1965, Midwest Maintenance Company, Inc. is now a leading multi-state building services contractor.

Johan Marin
2024 Destino Emcee
Johan Marin joined WOWT 6 News in September 2022. Originally from Quito, Ecuador, and raised in Kansas City, he graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in broadcast journalism and strategic communications. As a bilingual journalist, he is passionate about serving marginalized communities. In his free time, Johan enjoys spending time with family, hiking, traveling, and trying dessert shops.
